The Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators (ISTC) is the largest UK body representing information development professionals.

With a history dating back more than 50 years, the ISTC:

  • encourages professional education and supports standards
  • provides guidance about the value of using professional communicators
  • facilitates research, discussion and networking opportunities for its members and industry affiliates

Our members face a wide range of challenges that have an impact on their responsibilities, their day-to-day tasks and their careers. The ISTC provides opportunities for its members to understand and overcome these challenges while fulfilling their core responsibility of communicating complex or important information in the most effective way for their readers.
